U.S. Goverment Grants Dept. Reports & Reviews (1)

- Shawnee, KS, USA

I was contacted by phone on 08/31/2018, with the news that I had recieved a goverment assistance grant to help me out with my "debts, school, etc..." And I was chosen to recieve this grant today because I am the lucky recipient for this once in a lifetime assistance..

Well, the initial gentleman I spoke to went through a screening process with me for a health insurance questionnaire that was intended to qualify me for government assistance; this I was made to believe through calculated yet simple coached questions and answers by the man speaking to me, was the key to acceptance of the grant being offered to me--that is if I followed the script exactly as he was directing.

After he was satisfied that I knew what to say, he transferred me to another dept. In which they asked me 6 questions, asked me if I needed medical Insurance and what I was able to pay that day. Then I was given a "Goverment Grant Reference #" to give to a third party extension number I was to call to verify my grant and set up a method of transfer of funds from them to me...I called the listed number given to me, which took a total of ( 7 ) seven attempts to connect with the "goverment dept" responsible with the verification of my payment status, identity, reference #, and tracking # to be given to me; contingent upon the final stage of my grant award.

I was instructed by a female who answered the phone, that she was happy to help me through the process of gaining verification and payment of money to me by (money gram or western union ) or credit/debit card.

After she went through her dialogue, she informed me that in order to get the grant money I was to go purchase a " Application Card " which was used to verify the reference # given to me and release the tracking # of the wire transfer she was authorized to send to me if I got the application card, I asked why that was needed, and she stated that it was necessary because there is no federal employees authorized here in my city to release the funds to me.

I found this odd and her behavior and statement raised a red flag to me because I know that nobody should have to pay to have a Goverment Grant award released to them!

I proceeded to ask her her Name, Goverment ID #, location of business, and written copy of my Grant Award and any website I could visit to verify her authority and credentials.

Needless to say she proceeded to convince me she was official and represented the US Goverment and that the Application card was the only way I could obtain my funds, that the $200.00 would be reimbursed after I purchased the Application Card and my wire transfer was sent.

The woman who I was speaking with called herself Lydia Li, Her direct Number to reach her was 1+(516)-340-3575 ext 509

Please watch out and be aware of this scam because it could happen to anyone and take hard earned money from you and loved ones.
