These people were impersonating government officials, offering me a personal grant from the U.S. federal government for "having no debt and having paid all my taxes on time."

You don't get free money for doing what you're supposed to do, and ESPECIALLY not without applying for a grant (which I have not done)! And I'm pretty sure the government isn't in the business of providing personal grants for no apparent purpose at any rate...

I received a phone call from 202-658-7442 at 2:48 CST on 31 July 2017. The person identified herself as a US government official and wanted to send me $9,000.00 to me, She stated I had been selected because of my loyalty in paying my income taxes on a timely manner for many years and ALSO because I have no criminal record. She also stated that 1700 people had been selected to receive this offer, When I told her I didn't believe her, she hung up.
