Signed up my wife for a TSA Pre-Check, and as part of the process on May 14 there was a screen to offer pre-payment. This didn't take me away from the TSA site at all, so I went ahead and paid the fee of $141.94. (I thought that was a bit steep, but I also figured there was some kind of processing and first-time fee included.) She received a TSA email with the scheduled appointment; w/When my wife went to the TSA precheck, she found out that the pre-payment was a scam.

The strange thing is that all the info managed to make it to TSA, because they had everything. However, in looking at the email noting the appointment, it comes from [email protected], and not from a *.gov site.
