I received email from Ruth Gibbs, from the U.S. Department of Commerce, and included the website. Stating my resume has been reviewed by HR Team and listed out the available positions, stating $45 Hr. To proceed with interview, I had to contact hiring manager Kathy Maguire via Gmail/Google Hangout App. I was instructed to instantly message ([email protected]) with job code (JOB:***). After messaging Kathy through Hangout, set up interview for later that day. That evening, I missed Call from Kathy through Hangouts, and we proceeded with interview through the App by texting. She asked me series of questions pertaining to the job, my experience etc. Afterwards, she told me to wait 15 minutes and the decision should be on her desk. I got back on Hangouts after 15 minutes, and she let me know, I got the Job. She started sending me list of Job duties and explaining to me the process of receiving the Equipment needed, as this was 100% work at home. She asked if I could pay for the equipment and the department would pay me back. No, I don't have the money, so she was sending me check along with email with the employment forms needed to be completed within 24 hours. I discussed this job opportunity with My Mother and My Granny, and both said go for it, it's amazing the government wants you cause of your ability and work ethics. I stated to both of them, That is seemed Way to Good to be True....Following morning I received the email with the Job Offer and code of conduct, I read over them carefully and even sent screenshots to my Mom and Granny. I completed them and sent back as instructed, later that day she gave me Tracking number for the check and informed I would be starting training on Monday 1-25-21. So I talked to My Mom and Granny about putting my notice in at my current Job, and we decided to put it in and Friday would be my last day. I turned in my notice, and they accepted it on Thursday. I received the Check from USPS on Friday 1-22-21 $3900. I was instructed to deposit it through ATM machine at my bank, My Bank does not have that option, so I had to go Drive Thru. I was instructed after the check cleared, to take out $130 for myself, $100 for sign on bonus and $30 for completing task. Well, My Bank asked me several questions: Where did I get the Check?, What's it for?, Is it from someone you know?, They told me the Check was Fake. When I told Kathy Maguire that, she or whatever, I haven't spoken to the person except through messaging on Hangouts, they got Irritated and asked if I know how to follow instructions. And then instructed me to deposit it through mobile banking, Well I don't do that either. She said she was going to speak to the Accounting Department to find out what happened with the Check, cause it should be Good, Cause this is Legitimate Job. She wants me to pay for the shipping cost of the equipment with $300 bitcoins. I told her I'm not paying for Anything. She has asked me this morning, to go to WalMart and get Green Dot Card, WalMart Prepaid Card and Simple Bank Card to load money on. At this moment, I knew I had been Stupid for falling for this, I'm back unemployed, I had only had Job I quit for little over month. I had been unemployed since 10-20-20, which I was let go from company I worked over 10 years at due to COVID Conflicts. I'm single mother of 2 year old baby, and I'm back to not knowing How I will pay for our $1200 Mortgage, I got denied for Unemployment when I filed in October. ****** *** ***** ******** is cutting off the little they give me for ****  Benefits due to making too much at the Job I turned in my notice cause I was so Stupid to fall for this, it's completely Embarrassing, Cause I know I'm Smarter than this. Oh and they are cutting off My **** ********. We just got few benefits in December. I can't reapply to the job I just left for 90 days. I have All communication between me and Kathy, and I'm willing and wanting to turn it over, this way they can be Prosecuted. They impersonated the U.S. Government and even signed names on the Offer Letter. I'm willing to help in anyway I can to ensure these people Never do it to anyone else.
