I'm a small business owner registered with the U.S. Federal Government's System for Award Management (SAM). I received an email from what looked like the official SAM Registration Dept. this afternoon. I guess it was their logo that really got me and the fact this company has my personal information. I clicked on the "Start Renewal" link at the bottom of the message which went through a couple of pages of gathering my personal info. Next page was the final step where they ask for your "payment info." and when I saw that and realized they wanted $399 for a registration that is FREE to begin with, I decided to wake up and had to stop myself from clicking on anything further. This is when I noticed I'm not even on the official SAM registration page and I immediately closed the window and went back to the email to realize that I was about to make a $399 mistake with the option to give them some more of my personal information, including my CC number. I have alerted the SAM registration dept. and I'm filing this complaint to alert other business owners who may fall prey to this shady company.
