A longtime friend in the financial industry was advertising she was a broker for Uptradebroker on her Facebook profile page. She regularly posted photos of success, so I reached out to her about investing in cryptocurrency. After regular conversations with her via Facebook Messenger, I was instructed how to set up an account and invest. Over three separate transactions, I purchased $20,000 worth of bitcoin through Crypto.com and transferred it to Updtrade Brokers bitcoin wallet, bc1q3w3ffm6vwsk6nnwr4pudg0tjclc9gnvvq3v4je, to complete my investment. I received statements over the next 21 days and finally realized it was a scam when the communication dropped, and I contacted my friend personally. That is when she informed me her account had been hijacked and she could not access it any longer.
