Asian or Indian female voice. Sounded very convincing. Targeted my spouse and gave a fake ID number. Said to avoid further action return call. Stated that they would "log this call as verification of attempts to collect."

Called and said they needed to speak with me or an attorney, and since they haven’t heard back from me they’re scheduling someone to come out to my address and make sure I have my lease agreement.

I started getting private number calls 4/2025 telling me to contact them because of an investigation and was told to call 888-486-7174 I have received many of these calls/voicemails over the past month all saying this is my final chance to find out details. They have my previous name from over 12 years ago which is pretty disturbing.

They called my home and said I had a cash advance loan since 2017 (which I never have) and they had my personal info like, ss number, current and previous address but I know this is not my debt and my credit has been locked for years when I don't need to use it. Also, they said they have sent letters to my house and I know that's not true because I open all mail, even junk mail. I'm not sure how these scammers got my personal info, but they are scammers and that's what they do.

I received a call from someone claiming to be with a law firm regarding an alleged $2,000 debt from 2002. They instructed me to get prepaid money cards to pay the debt. My wife bought a $50 card and gave them the number on the back. Before making any further payments I called BBB. We discussed the manner of payment requested of the caller as well as the 6 year Statute of Limitations for debt in the State of Ohio. I will not be paying any more money and will disregard future calls.
