They called my home and said I had a cash advance loan since 2017 (which I never have) and they had my personal info like, ss number, current and previous address but I know this is not my debt and my credit has been locked for years when I don't need to use it. Also, they said they have sent letters to my house and I know that's not true because I open all mail, even junk mail. I'm not sure how these scammers got my personal info, but they are scammers and that's what they do.

I received a call from someone claiming to be with a law firm regarding an alleged $2,000 debt from 2002. They instructed me to get prepaid money cards to pay the debt. My wife bought a $50 card and gave them the number on the back. Before making any further payments I called BBB. We discussed the manner of payment requested of the caller as well as the 6 year Statute of Limitations for debt in the State of Ohio. I will not be paying any more money and will disregard future calls.
