I received a message from a Facebook friend. It began normally: "How are you? What have you been doing?" etc. Then she said, "Did you hear my news? I am getting $80,000 from the United States Funding Grant Program, co-sponsored by the U.S. government and the World Bank. "She" said I should apply for a grant; text request to 820-500-3250. I did, out of curiosity. I was asked a few vague questions, then sent an application to complete by text, including my SSA number. That is when I deleted the text conversation. I texted my friend directly on her cell; she had no knowledge of our conversation. I went back to Facebook messaging, and the conversation was gone.
