First tactic is urgency. The date to get your information filed is a few weeks away. Another tactic is, if you go on the website that's on the letter, they know that the website doesn't work so in most cases most people would call and if you call the number on the letter it says that they are aware that the website is down because of so many people trying to file their information so they give you another website and the application is avaliable. So then it appears to seem legit. Other info: I asked about, i didnt remember filing or doing this last year and the scammer told me that it was something new that the state put into law or started in January 2023.
