I got this notice in the mail today from UNIFIN claiming that I owed an outstanding debt of $10,262.33. I had ALL of my student loans consolidated with Navient and in 2019 I applied and was approved for an Income Driven Payment/Loan Forgiveness program and was approved in July of 2019. Over a year later and I receive this. I checked my online account and it was fine. So I called and spoke to a representative and and she said she saw nothing about it on her end and that I showed in Good Standing with Navient, who holds ALL of my student loans, consolidated. She said to call UNIFIN and see what they say and told me not to give ANY of my info at all because they should already have it if they received it as a student loan debt. So the UNIFIN lady kept asking for me to choose a payment plan, over and over, in different ways while ignoring me telling her about how "the debt should already be consolidated with the rest of my loans and that its been almost 2 years, so why this all the sudden?" she just asked me to choose a payment plan again. I told her "I need to speak to a supervisor to arrange proof that this debt belongs in my student loan consolidation program with Navient otherwise Id have to show a court. She then immediately told me "ok sir I will just post this as unresolvable and have a good day, 'CLICK'" hung up. I have never EVER been hung up on so fast by a debt collector in my life. They fight tooth and nail, so I am unconvinced that this is a valid debt notice. I have my student loans handled!!!
