Our company, Uncle Matt's Organic received an email from a consumer regarding what she thought might be a scam. She was searching for a job and noticed an ad for someone to add a Uncle Matt's Organic decal onto their car and get paid for driving around town advertising for our company. After a lot of text going back and forth between the consumer and the scammers she notified us. I called her and explained that we have never hired anyone to advertise like this for our company and this was a scam for sure. The scammers sent her a check for $1450.00 that she says our owner, Matt McLean signed. . She was supposed to deposit the check and then pay the decal installer. However, since they sent her too much money she was supposed to cash app them back most of the money. She did deposit the funds and did try and cash app the money back to them. However, the cash app noticed it as fraud. So once she told the scammers this they told her there was something wrong with the app and to go to Walmart and get a gift card and put the money on it. This is when she decided to contact our company to see if this was a real job or not. I have attached one of the emails that the victim sent to us today. The victim did send a copy of her drivers license in one of the text to them.
