I was waiting for a call from our urgent care to get the results of my husband's covid test. The phone rang and was listed as unavailable but had a local area code so I answered it. The person asked first off if I could hear him ok and I automatically said "yes." When he started talking (it might have been a recording) I immediately hung up and blocked the call.

Received a call on my cell phone stating that my Social Security Number had compromised. Two of my granddaughters received a call from the unavailable number.

"This message is to inform you that IRS is filing a legal lawsuit under your name and your tax id for the tax fraud we have tried to notify you regarding this issue in previous 6 months but we never got any response from your end so that has been considered as an intentional fraud and lawsuit has been filed under your name by the United States government you may call our department number 256-275-8139 I repeat 256-275-8139 thank you."

A man with an accent (possibly Indian) called my office number from 401-599-3432. I answered the phone, and he asked, is this "My Name"? I said, "yes", and he immediately hung up. Because I was at work, I thought perhaps it was someone with a legitimate business need to speak to me, and therefore confirmed my name. I am now concerned he recorded my voice, saying "yes" to use to authorize charges.

This is a common scam, and I fell for it because I was at work, and felt the need to respond professionally. At home, I would have responded with, "who is this"? People need to be aware that these scammers can call you anywhere.

On Monday, May 1, 2016, 8:57 a.m., caller ID read "Unavailable," so I let call to go voicemail.

Canned message started out: "The IRS has started a lawsuit against you.... Gave phone number of 1-323-729-3136 to call (I didn't). Recording ended call with "God Bless."

Phone call from 520-666-7714 (caller "unavailable"), male with a foreign accent claiming to be with State Farm Insurance and that their rates have been reduced. He asked if I still had one car with the insurance company that I currently do business with. He wanted to give me a quote. I refused to give him any information and hung up. When I called the number back, it would not connect.

I went to Craigslist jobs and click on warehouse work sent my resume then I received a email by a man name Kevin Colfax he said the job position was no longer available but he had another job offer if I'm interested. He wanted to deliver packages to my home and run errands and shopping for him. He said would meet me in person but he's out of town installing cameras in homes and will paid me 300wkly . He said when he get back he will meet me personally. He email him back to let him know when can I handle this job.
