I received and email that looked legitimate because the banner and information for UCLA was correct, however even though I am an alum at UCLA, I was never part of the Stem Cell Research Center. So, as a precaution, I checked the email and noticed that it was not linked to an actual UCLA account email. I think this is a really important scam to be aware of because the information is correct and it is moonlighting as a survey that offers a monetary reward, which makes it highly likely to interest people but the information they gather (I don't know exactly because I didn't click on it) could be very sensitive. Here is the email in full, minus my name:

The UCLA Broad Stem Cell Research Center is dedicated to transforming the practice of medicine through the development of stem cell-based therapies for a wide range of diseases.

My name is Dr. Thomas Rando and I began my role as director of the Center earlier this month.
