I received a call on April 6, 2016 stating that someone from a company back from 2006 or 2007 was trying to serve papers to me to appear in court regarding a loan that was taken out and not paid. The company that called me said their name was UBS Litigations. That they had tried to serve me the court documents in Quitman county where I used to live. They had my old employer name and my old email address at that employer. They knew my bank name, my last 4 digits of my social and some of my family members name. They said that their attorneys had evidence that I did not pay a loan and that if I didn't appear in court that there would be a warrant out for my arrest and my credit would be affected. They said I would lose in court and it would cost me $2,000, but if I paid them $500, it would be cleared out. I paid them. Later, when I had access to a computer I looked them up and saw it was a scam. I spoke with a Cynthia Rivers at this so called UBS Litigations 855-280-8457 ext. 139. Another number I have for them is 855-335-0462. When I paid them they said they had to record the info. on a federal line. They had all this personal info and I thought it must be legit since they had my last 4 of my social. I thought perhaps that I had forgotten to pay something. They then said that they ran my record and that it was clean and that I already knew and they said that they would hate to see me get in trouble. I am attaching a screen shot of websites that I found this scam on to prove that they are scammers. These people need to be stopped before they steal anyone else's money. I have closed my debit card and am having a new one re-issued and I am filing a dispute with my bank. I tried to do a stop payment, but the payment had already cleared. Please stop these people from doing this to others. I am a single mother of 3 and I had to take that money out of savings to cover the cost of what I paid them. All I have is the phone number and the name I previously provided as well as an email address of [email protected]. I do not have their address. They emailed me a letter stating that I had paid them, but did not have their address. Again, please stop them from doing this to others. Thank you.
