How it started was I meet a guy on Facebook dating app. So I guess this is also a romance scam too. We've been talking for over two years. He told me he was going to help me invest to earn some money. Well of course being broke where I live paycheck to paycheck I thought that was exciting. Well my dad passed away in 2022 and I got $3200 as my inheritance. He asked for $1000 for the initial start up fee. I believed him and sent it. Well in July of 2023 I received money from a work injury and he told me to send $12000 then he would be here. Well I thought he was telling the truth so I sent it. Well he said he was on his way from Florida then was supposed to have been in a plane crash with his private plane. That his daughter got hurt and needs money to go to the hospital. I didn't have any money so he apparently went back to Florida. Then he told me that I need to send payments to get my profit from the investment. I did I paid three more times for my profit and never got anything. The next time he said he was going to come up he was supposed to have been in a car accident and needed more money. I didn't have any so he went back to Florida again. The next time he said he had a glitch with his credit card send more money. I have sent to him anywhere between $18,000-$20,000 by this point. During this time [email protected] was supposed to be in control of my money, my profits. I would send money to them by Bitcoin and cards. The company always made an excuse why they couldn't issue my money. This time though I sent them my information about my accounts the account number and the routing number to my payday card to NetSpend card and cash app card. They said there's a problem and needed more money. I thought ok I'm finally going to get my money so I sent another $50. Then the guy who was supposed to be the man I'm dating just stopped talking. I took off work for a few days to go to Florida and now I'm stuck. I didn't go there but I have no grocery money or gas money for this week. I took off work to be able to go down there. The profit from my investment is supposed to be $2,000,000. I never believed that part. I honestly just want people to know what kind of people they are. They are the worst scammers out there preying on people who doesn't have much but they think that they can get something if they follow their instructions. I'm pretty sure I will never see any of my money which really hurts. I just wish I wasn't so naive and believed them.
