I received a text from a listing on Career builder.com for a work from home position. I found it very suspicious because I remember putting in the application but it was no longer listed on career builder. They put me through a virtual interview on Teams. I went through the whole interview process. They proceeded to send an offer letter and letter for insurance policy with the company. After doing some research, I thought they were apart of the actual company. They also sent me a link to fill out my personal information, such as My social security number, and photos of my ID to verify who I am. They asked me did I have a bank account that they could transfer the money for my Equipment too. They even had me set up an account for the money to be transferred to. But then they asked for my id.me password which is a federal site. Saying they had to verify who I am off of there. So I set up a phone call because why would you need that and it’s a 2 step authentication process so they wouldn’t be able to access it without me. I knew is a lie because I already submitted my information on the other site that’s when I knew it was a scam. Then once I called the actual company they informed me that it was a scam.
