Truairfare.com is a scam. Be careful and do not work with them. They took advantage of my family during a family emergency!

Bloth my husband and myself were to fly with Southwest Airlines on Jan. 6/25 to Florida. Our flight was canceled due to weather and after phoning them, they said they had already rescheduled us for a flight the next day and gave me the flight details. Later on that day, I was looking on the Southwest Airlines website and saw an earlier flight that would be better for us. I then again phoned Southwest Air and went through the usual "press 1, press 2 then put in your confirmation number and date of birth", which I did. When I was connected with a person, I asked if i could change the lfight to the earlier flight and he said there would be a charge of $75.00 per person ($150.00 total). I thought about it then refused. He then said he would waive one of the charges and it would only be $75.00. I then told him I had a credit with Southwest Air and he informed me that credits were only to be used with brand new flights, not changes. We then decided to take the earlier flight and gave the person my credit card information to pay the $75.00 charge. When the email alert from my bank came through my email later shortly after paying the amount, I noticed the alert from my bank said they paid the amount to truairfare.com. I immediately called Southwest Air and the person at Southwest told me that I had been scammed. Apparently they get a number of calls about this and that truairfare.com has a phone number one digit off from Southwest Air and if you incorrectly dial the one digit incorrectly, you end up with truairfare.com. Also they told me that truairfare mimics Southwest when you first phone (with the press 1, press 2, etc to make you think you are actually calling Southwest air. As well Southwest Air told me that they do not charges for any changes in flghts. They told me that they get many complaints that truairfare misrepresents Southwest Air and as well that truairfare will also in future possibly charge your credit card for other charges and that I should after taking my flight and arriving at my destination, call my credit card company and dispute the $75.00 charge and also cancel my card. This is what I did. A number days after doing this, I noticed that truairfare credited back to my card the $75.00, so I did not lose any money. Because my card was cancelled I had to notify those companies who had preauthorization on my card that my card was canceled and I had a new card, which caused me a lot of aggravation because of truairfare. The person at Southwest Air also suggested I advise the Better Business Bureau, which is why I filed this and hope to stop others from being scammed and having the aggravation I went through. We are presently in Florida until mid April and can reach us at the phone number shown

I booked a flight 2 different times on this site on 9/7/22 . It says "This is not your e-ticket, Your E-ticket will be send within 4 hours once your credit card verification has been completed. (Este no es su boleto electronico, su boleto electronico se enviara dentro de las 4 horas una vez que se haya completado la verificacion de su tarjeta de credito) Here's your flight itinerary details. Please make a note of the booking reservation number for future queries. We value and thank you for your business."

They also say they will give you 50% off if you call the number. When I called they put me on hold, but because there was a 24 hr cancelation, I thought I'd book this amazing price just in case when on hold. He (Oscar) came back he said that the flight was no longer available at that price but he could get me one to same destination, but hundreds of dollars more and not going at the time I needed.

I said I would just wait the 4 hours as the email said.

2 hours later I went to the site again, and the ticket for the SAME flight I booked was 150.00 cheaper so I booked that, and called the number to cancel the original one. Ironically I got (Oscar) again. He stated the ticket was not ticketed and would not be because the flight is full. I told him ok, I booked the same flight that he is saying is full at a cheaper price. He continued to say the flight is full. When I asked to talk to a supervisor, he said "why do you want to speak to a supervisor" I stated as a customer I am requesting to speak to a supervisor.

He said let me find one. Within a few minutes, someone else with a similar accent comes on. I could hear Oscar in the background. It was like they were in someone's home. The supervisor stated the same thing. BUT then says I can get you a flight not the hours I wanted for now over 1,000 a person. Please keep in mind the flight I got cheaper for the time I wanted was 756.17 per person.

When I told him that I needed to be there at a certain time, all of a sudden he said, you are getting that price but you can bring no luggage. I stated that it is with Delta and I am a Platinum, I'm not worried about that. He stated that he could get me the flight I wanted for the $756.17 but no luggage. I then said I have ALREADY booked that so I will wait the 4 hours as the email states.

This morning 9/8/22, I called the number to find out why the ticket was not ticketed and my credit card was not charged? The man with a similar accent asked for my Ref #. I gave him this info from the email

"Your booking reference number

EDIDEDF

Your booking is under process. We would send your e-tickets soon."

He could NOT find my reservation, stating the reference number is too long. It should only be 6 characters.

Now I am so confused how this company gives you a reference number, and it is TOO LONG??

I give him the info from the flight and he puts me on hold. In the mean time I go back to the website and was able to BOOK the SAME flight at the SAME time for the SAME money $756.16.

He comes back on the line and states "you called last night and I telling you what they already told you. Your flight is not going to be ticketed because that flight is full" I stated why is it on truairfare. com, still if it is full and why was I able to book it again this morning at the same price.

All he could say is prices are not updated. That is exactly what I was continuing to be told.. Which makes not sense. If you go to ANY flight site Orbitz, Priceline, Expedia, etc. you book the flight, you get the email confirmation and within the time stated on the email you get your eticket.

I believe this is a scam. I have wasted so much time dealing with these men. They are rude, and I am glad I didn't give them my credit card info over the phone. It seems that is what they want people to do. They entice you by the great fares, then you call because it is not ticketed and they try to get you book through them so you can give them your card number. It is a foreign company that says they are out of Austin Texas.

I hope you can help before they continue to scam others.
