When I answered, they would say, "Hello, this is so-and-so from the TripAdvisor Gifting Program. Can you hear me okay?" Then I hung up.

Received phone where man identified as being from TripAdvisor. He then asked if I could hear him clearly. I had been waiting for a call from Sumner and made a mistake and said “yes.” The person then hung up. I since found out this is a scam to record you saying yes so they can charge you for things you didn’t order.

Automated call said they were from TripAdvisor and then asked "can you hear me okay?"

I said "yes" and then immediately after realized it was a scam. They hung up after I said yes.

I received a phone call on 3/9/17 from a woman named Brooke claiming to be with TripAdvisor. She asked if I could hear her, I replied yes, I can hear you. She then hung up the phone, I know this is like the scam that is going around when an automated voice ask if they can hear you, they record you saying yes. This is what she did and I have also contacted TripAdvisor as well.

Caller said he was from trip advisor. And can you hear me? Husband said yes. I live in montana but still have the California phone number with the same area code as the scam call. Husband hung up as soon as he said yes remembering the scam.

Pause at the beginning of call, person says "this is tripadvisor, can you hear me?" I said "no", waited several seconds and the person hung up.

I got two calls from the same number, when I answered it the second time the caller introduced themselves as a representative from TripAdvisor and then asked "can you hear me ok?", I answered "Yes", and then there was a strange period of silence, then the caller started to explain some offer about a cruise and I replied "No, I'm not interested", and I was immediately hung up on. I could tell they were recording my voice. I am concerned that they recorded my "yes" reply to use in some future fraud.
