I was scammed out of $25,303.26 from what I believed to be Trident Abstract Title Agency. Trident never contacted me directly to provide with the wire instructions for our home closing. We were waiting for the final number for what our down payment would be and received an email from the woman who worked at Trident who had been in touch with our attorney. She contacted us directly and gave us the final total due and wiring instructions. At no point in the closing process did the real title company reach out directly to us to provide wiring instructions, funds needed, etc. The scammer had the our information from the title company and even provided us the final numbers 1 hour before our attorney told us. They knew who and when to reach out to initiate the scam.
