An individual called my cellphone and wanted to know if I was interested in selling my "Occidental" Timeshare. I was at work, & could not talk on the phone, and stated that I would be interested in finding out more information, and to please email me. After asking a few short questions, such as about how much I had paid and what were my maintenance fees, which I did not know exactly he got my email address and stated he would be sending a contract for me to review as he had a buyer ready to purchase timeshares like mine. Within the next 24 hours, I had received a well put together an email and a contract that looked very professional, with an amazing offer of $18,000. Seemed a little off from the phone call but then the email sent my radar up, as a too good to be true offer, as the individual had not gotten hardly any concrete info from me to give such an offer. The contract to review was very thorough but had areas that heightened my suspicions. I emailed the "broker to ask for proof of his broker license, as he had already called once to "check if I had gotten the documents" I did not answer and he had left a vm, to call him back. Now he has not responded to my email or called today, as I suspect, he does not have a license and is working a pretty elaborate scam. He did not get to the point of taking money, but if you read the contract it appears there will be money that the owner will need to pay and then get reimbursed from the buyer at closing, which is I'm sure where the scam would take place.
