I applied through indeed and was contacted. I interviewed via skype (chat, not f2f) and they offered me a position. I signed a contract, which included equipment for a home office. I was sent a check written from an "affiliate partner" for $2750. On the next day, Saturday, the funds were available and the company began to pressure me to send money via Venmo to a "vendor" for the equipment. When I pushed back about waiting until the check cleared, they began making threats about charging me with a crime and telling me that I was obligated to follow instructions. I refused to purchase the items and 3 days the later the check was returned. The check was written from ******, a company out of Houston TX. When I called the bank, they said very little about what went wrong. They did say it sounded like scams they see. I included a copy of the front of the check; however, I have the back of the check and a copy of the contract they sent me.
