This company had me depositing fraudulent checks into my bank account. They told me that the checks were from a school in Georgia. They sent checks and invoice numbers. After awhile the two checks came back fraudulent. I now have to pay back money that I don’t have.

Thank you for the heads up. I am preparing to retire from the Army and received the same email. Truthfully it sounded like a pretty good opportunity. The first red flag for me was simply the text format of the email. I was directly contacted by Emery Borrallo by email. Second flag for me was simply the fact that I never requested any information regarding this job opportunity. A link was sent to me regarding the employment documents. When once opened was asking about some basic information. The entire process just seemed very elementary and to be honest created concerns that I was about sign up to run logistics for some mexican cartel..lol!

After looking at the application I was convinced something was off and searched and found this page. With the most updated post being less than a week ago.

I have been laid off so I was looking for job on various job sites which means my email address, name and address is on several job sites. Someone with the email address “[email protected]” about a job opportunity. Soon after I was contacted by another email “ [email protected]” and soon he set up an interview call and offered me a job as a logistic advisor for transportes miajadas (which is a legitimate Spain based company). He said that the company is expanding oversees and is hiring ahead for jobs. I figured it was a scam from that point onwards because he did not disclosed information I asked about the company and its background. I played along to see what he was up to. He claims to be my personnel manager and that I was be working under him as an employee of Transportes Miajadas. I have attachments of screenshots of the offer letter, job description and all email he sent. The second red alert was when he discussed the pay; $4,000 for a month for a 15 hour week (too good to be true especially with no prior experience). I continued to see what were his intentions with the scam. He said that there is a 60 days training where I will be given assignment for invoice processing and customer help related to logistic needs.

The first assignment asked me to research the current logistic market in my neighborhood and report their name address and services to emery. While I was keeping him occupied I was researching his name and trying to contact the actually company in Spain. There is no social present of the person named emery borrallo in United States. Then I contacted a current employee at the Spain company and they confirmed my suspicions.

Soon after two days a second assignment to receive a check and invoice from a client came to me. I was asked to receive the check which will be mailed to me, cash out the check and then send the money to the accounting section. This was the third red flag. So I waited for the check to come in after two days. The check came in and it looks good and legitimate with the company name and rounding number, account number and check number. So I contacted the bank to see if the account was active and it came back positive. The I called the client’s account department to confirm if they have recently sent a check and the man on the other hand said that the check number was from 2018 and no check has been addressed to any company name Transportes or me. I have blocked the caller and his emails and wanted to bring this to your attention right away.

I have all the screen shots and email exchange plus the voicemails as evidence if you require.
