My coworker received a call on our work phone. They knew her full name, workplace, work number, work email, etc. They were offering to send her an e-book to download onto our computers. She has never utilized such a service before, and would certainly not have logged into this site at work or released any information to someone like this. My coworker asked how they obtained her information, but the caller, who introduced herself as Dora, denied that they had gotten it from some kind of marketing list. My coworker asked to be removed from their list, and she got a little bit of protest from the caller, stating that they were "a professional service." My coworker again insisted that they put her on a do-not-contact list, but there are several complaints about this company online stating that they will never remove you from their list, and that the people who have tried to download this e-book were never actually able to after clicking the link. I'm afraid it's an attempt to get malware and viruses onto our work computers.
