Selling a used vehicle on Craigslist. Within 24 hours of posting the ad I received a text message from Colorado (ad listed in Kentucky), the message was a copy/paste of my ad listing title. They immediately asked if I had a "TVR report" then sent me a link to www.totalvehiclereport.com. I gave them the VIN and said they could run whatever report they wanted. They insisted that I run the report, on that one site. I linked them the .gov website describing the Vehicle Report Scam and I offered to purchase one from Carfax or another trusted site and they refused, again insisting I use their site. I asked how long they had been using that site and they said over 6 months. Simple research showed the website was registered and created in December 2023 (4 months ago). When I made it clear I wouldn't use their site they ceased contact.
