Poses as an employer for a European-based debt collection company called Top Inkasso looking for remote debt collectors to hire. Has a very authentic hiring process and will even eventually give you “clients” to collect debts from through the employee portal after you’re hired and trained. These debts to collect even come with invoices and authentic appearing hand-signed contracts for you to review before attempting to collect the debt. However, manager “Josef Weber” eventually pushes you to use your own banking information to collect debts because “some clients are based in the U.S” and Top Inkasso is currently “unable to collect from U.S clients on their own” due to being based in Europe and still “working on opening their branch in the states.” If you say no, Josef will agree at first but later down the line will again politely push you to do so. If you still say no to using your own personal bank accounts to collect money for them, they will eventually lock you out of your employee portal and completely ghost you. No paycheck will be issued for the “work” you did up until that point either. He had me sign a tax form W4 using my SSN and asked for my photo ID. The scammer had me perform a wire transfer of $50 using my bank into their account for a "trial test". One of the most elaborate and well-done scams I have ever seen. Only after being pushed to give my own banking information and refusing was it clear this was a scam.
