I purchased two new containers promising will delivery when full funds paid. I kindly go ahead with the payment, received an email confirmation with driver name, phone number, and delivery time. I waited no delivery, called, text, and email no response.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I attempted to purchase a shipping container via OfferUp classified ad service. 1) The seller claimed the photo of the container is the 'actual' container for sale, however, a google image search showed the same photo/container on an Australian container company's website. 2) The company invoice he emailed, "Toe Containers", appears to have taken virtually all their website photos from the Australian company mentioned above and none of their '5' listed addresses are 'container' yards but rather random businesses. Furthermore, their website was created 2 months ago yet mentions a "25 year" history in the business. 3) This seller's invoice instructed me to transfer monies via B of A wire transfer to direct deposit. ($3250.00). 4) The price is ~$1000-$1500 below market value. 5) The seller was a new member on OfferUp with zero sales.

All in all, it looks way too fishy. I did not bite!
