I had applied for some jobs and a day later received a text message claiming to have seen my resume and application. They did mention a job that I had applied for. They asked me to contact HR through Google Hangouts and provided an email address for me to contact. A couple things raised red flags for me. They did not mention which company they were from and the email address was they gave me was odd. It was close to, but didn't exactly match the spelling of the name of the HR person they gave me. It was also a Gmail address, which I knew was unusual, since any real recruiter or HR employee would have a company email address. I did a little Googling and found some articles describing the same setup, confirming it was a scam.
