Ticket Support Desk Reports & Reviews (12)

These people have somehow made their scam number one of the first links when googling Lufthansa customer service. They are scammers who try to charge more for tickets and collect unnecessary information, and then fraudulently pose as your family to change a ticket through the legitimate channel. Totally crooked and should not be trusted at all. See also this Washington Post expose:

Called Air France and it wasn’t Air France. They were trying to scam me out of $765 plus my flight. I told them I was reporting them to my credit card company. Look closely on the internet for the correct name. Plenty is scammers out there!

Searched Google for Air France number and this number popped up. She acted as a legitimate rep. I guess what made it hard to detect is that they had some info about me and the reservation somehow. So it felt legit... until it didn't. By that time I already gave them my CC so had to call the fraud dept. to prevent the charge.

I googled Air Canada reservations. An Indian chap answered after 5 rings. Tried to cancel a last minute flight. Gave my reservation number and confirmed my name (and date of birth!). He agreed to cancel reservation and issue a credit note subject to a cancellation fee. I then had to give a credit card number.

Only after receiving an email asking me to authorise the payment by replying "I agree" did i twig that this was a scam. I asked why he was not emailing from Air Canada. He explained that he worked for a third party that handles overflow calls. I put him on hold and then hung up. Managed to contact bank to cancel card. No transactions went through. Scary stuff. Very elaborate scam. Now on hold to Air Canada to re-arrange flight.

He tried to call me back twice using: +14154927672 and +12089080006. Number on his email signature was: 1-228-888-0004

Tell tale sign -airlines don't answer the phone after 5 rings!

We searched Lufthansa number in Google and the number above came out after calling there was an Indian guy who said our second flight has been cancelled and w e are to pay 41200 US to rebook. After asking him how do we know you are right he said check your flight in Lufthansa website and will see that your flight is cancelled, upon checking the website we found the flight was cancelled and we fall into the scam giving our credit card number. After that we called the real Lufthansa number and we were told no charge required and they booked us a new flight. We luckily cancelled our credit card right away and no charge was in our card.

Had to search for Lufthansa customer support and called the number which google search came up with +1 (888) 571-2616

First sign should have been that it went directly to a person instead of IVR

”Agent” asked for all standard details like flight details, PNR etc and said that in order to change flight there will be a charge.

After some haggling that it should be free as it was weather related , agent said that he will try his best to get the cost reduced. Came back with a smaller amount which I reluctantly agreed to. Provided credit card details, address etc and they sent an email which I have to agree to. Not sure why they needed the reply?

After all done, I saw the ticket had not changed on the website and realized something is off. One looking at the email, realized this might be a scam and found this website.

Called up credit card company and blocked the card which stopped the card from being charged. Also registered this fraud with them.

Received multiple calls from +1 (251) 699-0003 and an email from them to approve the transaction.

Received email that the itinerary had changed, special circumstances with the Ukraine crisis and flights using the Russian airspace being canceled. Got the number +1 888-571-2616 on the link from the email. Called and Norman answered. He pretended to help me with rebooking flights that are special flights going out of India to the US. Then slowly the tickets were gone for multiple of the options.

Then the only option remaining for us was to cancel or get credit. I chose to cancel for which Norman said you need to upgrade to flex tickets which is $2532 for 2 tickets. Damn! I was so confused by then that I agreed to all the steps. The non-refundable tickets still costing $2532 was not right, but did not catch my attention.

Was late for my flight, quickly looked up the American Airlines phone number to get onto the next available flight. The number +18885712616 was listed as "American Airlines Reservations" on the results so naturally I hit call, without clicking on the link.

A man answers the phone as "American Airlines, Norman speaking" so I don't see anything wrong. Asks me for details, credit card info, address, all that jazz. Luckily I was already on my way to the airport. After getting off the phone with him I go straight to the American Airlines desk and explain the situation. She says nothing has been changed. This is when I realize I've been scammed.

Luckily cancelled the CC before they could take the money which was over 600$. I called the same number I had previously called and a woman picked up. I asked her what the company name was and she dodged the question three times. I asked again clearly "what is your company called" and she refused to respond. I then accused her of working for a scam and she hung up on me. The phone number was then disconnected, and does not seem to work anymore.

About 45 mins later, I started getting spammed with calls from +12692868416 and recieved not one but two emails, including one from a man named Simon.

Luckily American was great in helping me deal with this and rebooked my flights free of charge.

Beware...

I tried to rebook flights with some credit i had on Alaska Airlines and the agent Robert William told me the flights were going to be $400 more than the original flight and I had to send an email saying “i agree.” Then a couple of hours later he called me back and said it would cost $600 more than my original flight, again requesting an email saying I agree. He asked what my husband’s name was and I told him i don’t have a husband. He repeated the question like 3 times and then said were you Married before and what was husbands name. Then i received an email from a chat person at Alaska Airlines saying there was something fishy going on with my account and did i know that. Now trying to get AA customer service rep on phone to straighten out (40 min wait). Long story short: this OSS a scam and it has mucked up the works as i try to book my flights. I guess I clicked the wrong link when trying to get to AA reservations and got to this scam company that tries to squeeze e money out of you than you really owe. BEWARE!

Any idea why they wanted phone number and other details? Any further activity by them ? I am considering putting a credit watch on my profile ..

Googled Alaska Airline customer service number. This scam was listed before the legitimate phone number. I called them to cancel my flights. They charged me $198 to cancel my flight. Asked for my name, address, phone number, credit card number-expiration-code, and my birthdate. They had me respond to an email authorizing them to cancel my flight reservation.

I realized it was a scam before they were able to charge my credit card or collect the refund from my airline tickets. I cancelled my credit card and used the official airline website to cancel my flight. I've since been contacted by phone twice more and by email. They have said I need to go to my bank and authorize the charge, plus pay the "fees" for not allowing the charge to process in the first place. One phone call said it would be double the original charge, one email just said there were "dues" I needed to pay for the delay in processing.
