The former repairman/owner of Tick Tock Dr. was great and a wizard at watch repair. I commissioned some silver and onyx earrings from the NEW owner. Once I got them (I paid $60 via credit card), I had them checked by a pawn shop and a reputable jeweler: they're base metal and glass. I also sold him some scrap gold (he did NOT do the required SC paperwork pawn shops and jewlers must do when buying gold!). the 2nd time I was going to sell him some scrap gold the new guy tried to tell me the 14K clasp for an old pearl neckace (with an inch of gold chain on each side) I'd had redone (again, by a reputable jeweler) was not gold. I suggested he throw it out to see what he'd do, but then I returned and asked for it back...and I did not get half of the chain back. Bush River Pawn gave me $15 for the remaining scrap gold. I'm worried this guy has my credit card infomation and my husband's credit card info. Since the Columbia SC Sherrif's office sent me to the BBB, and the SC Office of Consumer Affairs (who should be getting the required paperwork for selling gold) declined to act, I'm warning you - STAY AWAY.
