After I sent an initial e-mail inquiring about the cost, and requesting updated photos, they responding with a long e-mail in return. The person I sent the e-mail to ([email protected]) responded with a completely different e-mail address ([email protected]). They make no mention of the Craigslist ad, and act as though they are a family breeder. The wording is very vague and does not signify with whom the Bengal kittens are registered, who their parents are, etc. Instead, they directly mention a very low price ($350) and an excuse for the low price being something about not getting along with their landlord.
The website is all over the place. The parents of the kittens are not listed, and they mention 3 different business names for their supposed "cattery" on the website - James Cattery, Tica Snow Spotted Bengal Kittens, & Karl Family Bengals. They pretend to be TICA registered, but none of the business names they provide are on the website. They do not mention what the kittens have been tested for, and the supposed "testimonials" on the website are vague, poorly written, and more than half of them mention having adopted a "maltese kitten" or teacup puppy. Inconsistency with the website, as well as the low price and urgency of the e-mail, and of course complete dissonance re: the original Craigslist posting, are what led me to believe that these people are scammers. When asked to provide information on the parents, and whether or not they really are TICA-registered breeders, there was no response.
