We wanted to purchase a munchkin kitten and looked online at one of the first sites that popped up. We emailed and texted the numbers which got back to us quickly with details about the cats, more pictures/videos, and even sent a contract for us to sign. We paid them via the Zelle app, they said they only accepted through Zelle or Cashapp. They said they were going to send up the tracking number of the cat (to be flown to us) and when we looked at the website of the shipper (Parcel Worldwide) it was asking for more money, $1500. I knew then that it was a scam. I called my bank and they said because it was a voluntary transfer of money we are out $950. The people on the phone numbers and emails (turned out to be foreign) didn’t respond or when they replied back they said were offended that we would say it was a scam. Come to find out through an extensive google search; it was definitely a scam that they have done before.

We found the website and really liked several of the kittens on there. My girlfriend contacted the number on the website. (It said text us). They replied and asked for an email address. In the email it said Price of the kittens are $800 plus $150 for shipping. Deposit of $500 location Oklahoma. It also said "if you are not ready to buy disregard this email. We do not entertain time wasters". We said we are serious and please send the Zelle info. (The options were Zelle and Cash app.) He sent the email: [email protected] for his Zelle account. Once I sent the money got a message from my bank that Zelle was not setup on the receivers end. Since we were excited to move forward with the purchase I asked for the Cash app info. ( I was too excited and did not see the signs). They sent Cash app info and I sent the $500 deposit. Then they sent the address. We live in Houston, TX but we were ready to drive out there. (about 8 hours drive) We told them we will be there tomorrow to pick from the kitten and he said ok.

A few hours later he texted that there is an issue. He said he has other buyers and for us to pick 3 kittens and send the balance and he would save those 3 for us to pick from in person. I didn't feel comfortable but being as excited as we were we agreed. He started by saying our balance is $450. We asked why and after a little back and forth he said yes sorry the balance is $300 but one of the kittens in actually $900 so for us to send $400 and if we end up with a kitten that is not $900 he will refund us $100. He also said that his Cash app had gone over the limit and he sent another Cash app ID. Luckily when I sent $400 to the other account Cash App returned it right away and said there are scams with this account.

He said he would send another Cash App account but at this point we told him since we are going to be there tomorrow why don't we bring cash. He started by saying things like "What's the matter? It sounds like you don't trust me. If that is the case I will just refund you"

So we said again, since we will drive out there tomorrow we will bring you the balance in cash. If that is not acceptable you can give us the refund.

We never heard back from him. We texted again. I even texted from my phone to his phone and the other phone number which is tied to "Marisa F Braun". I sent a request on Cash app for a refund and they immediately declined it.

I started doing some research and saw a post on "Marisa F Braun" twitter from December 2019 that had one of the same exact picture of a kitten on their website that they claimed were only 10 weeks old. At that point I knew we have been scammed.

If you need any additional information I will be happy to provide it. I'm trying to make sure they don't scam others anymore. Based on my research their phone numbers are associated with lots of different type of pet sales on many different sites.
