*** *** **** ****, a couple, both 78 years of age, were planning a vacation. They were taking a trip to Utah and needed a rental car. **** googled rental cars and saw an ad for Thrifty Rental Car. She called the number from the add. The person pretending to be the Thrifty Sales Rep instructed **** to purchase a GO2 prepaid debit card for $410.00 at their local Dollar General to cover their 7 day rental of a Toyota *****. Mr. *** did so. He then called back and gave the "Thrifty Sales Rep" the card number. When they had another question, they called the number back only to be told that no one by that name was there. They thought they had been scammed. So they called to cancel their GO2 card and report fraud but it was already too late.
