I received a letter from TSP three years after my son died while serving in the military stating I may be untitled to death benefits. I contacted TSP per their request. They stated I would be receiving a letter with a punch ticket list of information or documents required to verify the situation. They said the letter should be here in 7 to 10 business days. After 3 attempts (2 weeks between) I never received the letter. On the third attempt they asked me to send a death certificate more or less to get the ball rolling. This seams to be a shady scam at this point.
