Family has been looking for a Miniature Schnauzer. Came across add in the recycler.com and sent them a message. We got a reply back with a website, thoroughbreeder.com and a telephone number. We asked several questions via text about puppies and we heard the answers we wanted to hear with our hearts. We tried calling several times but he would only respond through text but thought that is fine and moved forward. Once we decided on the puppy, we asked how the transaction would work. He stated the cost covered the dog, paper work, some personal belongings, airfare and delivery to our house. We paid through Zelle and we were told he was going to make arrangements the next day for shipping and inform us about the information. The next day, it took us to reach out to him for update. Received an email from a shipping company, stating the dog needed shots and a container. Fees come out to another $1000 plus. I immediately felt anger and disappointment because I knew where this was going. Went online and found similar information on other scams reporting similar websites. The wording and pictures of shipping company request were spot on from what we received and others posted. Immediately called to get money back. Gave us the run around that he was going to call the shipping company. He dropped price to $650 but by then we were done and asked for our money back. Phone calls were not answered, text would say he needed to get refund from airline shipping company before we saw our money. Of all this, what hurts the most is telling our kids we have been scammed and no puppy was coming. Please do your research and best to see the dog in person if you happen to read this.
