Met him on Plenty of Fish ( my first time on this site). We talked for a while and then went to our personal emails. Then texting. He claimed he was in the military in Iraq and that this would be his last tour ending in November 2018. When he came home he wanted to open up his own business. He seemed great. A few months in and he said his phone shattered and he did not know how long it would last. If he lost the phone we would loose communication. I sent him a phone. I then sent him $1,000.00 (cash deposit). A few months later he said he had things that needed to be shipped home ( since he would be home in November) and if he could send them to me. He said the packages contained personal belongings and money. I said ok. I believed him. The sender of the packages was Howells Lankford. The packages were sent and cost were paid. Soon after I received an email saying that the packages were detained with US Department of Homeland Security. To have the packages shipped I had to fill out paper work for a yellow tag and I submitted $ 2400.00(money order). The paperwork looked real and again I believed him. Soon after it was more money for the packages. At that point I knew something was not right. I questioned him and how this was crazy. I was getting emails from Homeland Security which included threats. For months it was all about those packages and how he would lose everything. I refused to send more money. He would be very forceful. He would get angry and make threatening comments. He said he would work on getting the packages shipped and he said he would return all my money. He would ask for my bank info (which I did not give him) so he could transfer the money back to me. I have ended all communication with him. I have all emails, names, pictures, documents, bank receipts. I believe that he was sent all the forms and emails under different address and acting as several different people. I have provided you one of the mailing addresses and phone number which I mailed the phone.Please keep my name anonymous. I appreciate any help you can provide. I don't know if I'll get my money back but I would like to see something done and to protect others from being victims. I've never imaged this could happen to me but it did. I am embarrassed. I'm angry that I allowed this to happen. He has my license information which I'm concerned. Today I finally got the courage to share my story.
