I was on LinkedIn and received an employment opportunity for a Secret Shopper to evaluate stores close to my home. Normally I wouldn't have acted on it, but since it was LinkedIn I did. I shared my email, cell, and home address. Within 3 days, I received a text that a check was delivered to my home. The letter enclosed with the money order, advised that I was to ONLY deposit the check into my checking account. And gave a list of items that I needed to do and adhere to. Example, after depositing the money order, I was to pay for a $10.00 cashier check, payable to American Kidney Fund that would be given to the American Cancer Society. I was to purchase a certain amount of gift cards at Walmart for under $100 each at the Apple Store inside Walmart and check the customer service and the store restrooms. Then I was to keep $200 for myself.

I did none of it. I went to my bank and asked them to verify if this was a "real" money order. They scanned it and said that it was not real. So I did not reply back to the scammer after that.
