I was contacted via email by an HR Representative claiming to be from Temenos Software Company and it stated they were impressed by my resume and wanted to set up an interview for an on-line work from home position for $35 hourly. It said to contact the hiring manager via whats app or telegram to proceed with an interview. I should have realized it then as the first red flag. I contacted him on whats app and then he gave me a description of the job and started asking me interview type questions and told me to meet him back on what’s app at 8am and he will have an answer about whether I am hired. He told me I was hired and that he was sending me a laptop and a check to purchase a specific software. He asked for my full name, address and phone number and said he would be sending me a w-4 and to meet him again on what’s app at 8am the next morning to go over more information. That’s when I started to think something seemed off and went back to the original email and noticed that it said the company name but was actually from a gmail address not a company address.
