Letter received comes in envelope marked "TAX CITATION" This is one of many I have received from this group.

Letter states there is a STATE TAX WARRANT filed against me in the county i reside.

Proceeds to say IRS is now employing thousands of new agents focused on enforcement.

I called the 800 number and no one answered, seconds later I received a phone call from another number.

I told him to take me off his list, I don't owe any taxes and to stop trying to scam elderly people who might not know better.

I have been harassed through letters and phone calls from a company that calls itself The Tax Goup telling me that I have a debt with the IRS for the amount of $24,671.00. I called them at 800-708-4665 and they asked me $2,500 They say if I don’t pay the IRS will take me to court, collect my paycheck or put me in jail and when I asked them to identify themselves they hung up on me. I would like to know how to prevent them from sending me emails and calling me. I do not have any debt with the IRS. I’m tired of being harrased by this company.

I have received 7 pieces of mail within 2 days - all mailed on the same date, stating that I have a $12,627.00 tax lien filed against me.

I do NOT have ANY tax liens filed against me. After reading through, I observed the statement in very fine print at the bottom of the received pieces of mail "This company is a private company not the government, it does not represent or collect on behalf of any taxing authority. Some values are estimated and based on information from the public record, no results or services guaranteed."

The letters are SUPER threatening, stating wage garnishments, bank account seizures, etc.

THIS IS A SCAM! I called to speak with them and ALL THEY WANTED WAS MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. I refused and was repeatedly hung up on.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

THE TAX GROUP IS A BUNCH OF THIEVES TRYING TO STEAL YOUR MONEY!

US Postal service forwards envelopes to me every month from this firm, it has incomplete street address and the wrong city and the wrong zip+4 zipcode but does have my 1st and last name correct, so the postal service eventually forwards to me. the automated scam letter says they want to offer debt relief to me on a "recently filed tax lien" they say they obtained from public records. However, the "recent" lien they mention is from 2013 that was already paid and case closed in 2016. Obviously they are buying or renting or using a mailing list from an outside source since so much of the mailing info and lien info is old and incorrect.

I received a letter from the Tax Group. It says I have a tax lien of $5,024. I can settle it for $502.40. I called the Tax Dept about this and they said it is a fraud.
