The initial contact was made with a voice message by a woman calling herself Cindy and offering to eliminate any unpaid taxes. She said she noticed some were owed (which they are not). She gave this call back number (858)667-0653. When I called the number, a man answered. I asked for Cindy and he said he was her supervisor. He asked for personal information and whether I had tax debt. I felt sure this was a scam, but the man did not have any discernible foreign accent. When I resisted giving him information, he hung up. I decided to call again. In several attempts I spoke to several men. All of them had the same reaction to being questioned, and they all claimed "Cindy" was their assistant. This is gross, right? None of the people involved as foreign accents.
