I was contacted by Peter Bonnet from The Real Estate Purchase Company, LLC about Hilton buying out Diamond resorts and he has a buyer interested in purchase our points for $20,675. Of course at first this sounded really good until I was told about the $3,700 we would need to pay for our Mexican tax I’d numbers…even though the Citibanamex bank account was only in my name with no other I’d to open the account other then my name and signature. Yet when I called the bank they could pull up the account and verify the funds in the account with only my name. This made me weary. I was first led to believe the $3,700 would be taken out of the purchase price then I was told it could be paid by credit card and lastly I was told the only way to pay it is to wire the money. This made me very uncomfortable. I asked why the money was in Mexico and they told me the buyer was in Mexico. I told them that wasn’t what the paperwork says. They told me there is a section on the agreement that protects my money and I had to explain the section protected the buyer NOT the seller. It was at this point I was verbally threatened with a cancellation charge and I refuse to talk to them again. I’m receiving emails about how upset their wife is going to be about the cancellation of my contact. Pretty low…she is going to be disappointed the scam didn’t go through. Peter had an accomplice with a company called GBM Escrow Service Inc., Aaron James Smith, phone number 646.760.5415.
