I recently refinanced my home. I was contacted by mail by who I thought was my mortgage company offering me life insurance on my loan. I know other companies who do this so I didn't think anything of it. I called to tell them no thank you. The man, Joe, said he had to legally offer me this in person so I could sign I was rejecting this. He made an appointment to come to my home. I once again didn't think much of this since due to the pandemic, when I signed my closing papers on my house, we did it at my home. He came and gave me his spill. When he asked if I had any questions, I asked for the papers so I could look at them. He said there were no papers, it was sign up today or not at all. That's when the red flags starting rising. I tried to hurry him up to the end of this spill then told him no I was not interested. He said sorry for wasting your time then asked one more time if I was okay with not having all his benefits. I said no again and he practically ran from my house. Since everything felt weird, I started investigating more and I ran across the scam warnings.
