I sent in my resume to apply to a job that was posted on Craigslist.com. I then received an email back saying that I was selected for the position of remote administrative assistant (which was not the job I had applied for) for The Mom Project, Inc. (which was not the company I had applied to) based on a thorough review of my resume. I was given details of the job and was asked to send back an acceptance letter, which I did. I then received an email back asking for my name and address so that they could mail me a check for $2950 - $2450 to purchase office equipment for the job and $500 for my first week's paycheck. Since I could not find a company email or phone number on these email communications, I emailed a representative of The Mom Project, Inc. separately and found out that the job offer was fraudulent and the company's Indeed.com account had been hacked a few days prior.
