Thinking this could be something, before really thinking about it, i replied saying thank you for choosing me to move forward and gave all the information asked. Wasnt asking for anything more than my address and phone number so I thought it should be ok. And saying the tax forms would be mailed made it seem more legit.

An hour later (what I would say is after business hours but some people work late so didnt think too much into it), I received the following;

"Dear [finally my name], We are glad to have you join the team! On behalf of all the members and the management, we would like to extend our warmest welcome and good wishes.

You are now given a chance to show your commitment, charisma, diligence and be a productive employee. Head to the nearest Office Depot or Staples and purchase a Standard Business Check Refills. It is needed to print out the check the company will issue out to you to cover for your branded work equipment. It cost about $15 and you will be reimbursed.

Send me the purchase receipt for records.

Best Regards,

Jeffrey Clark

This instantly made me uneasy and i started googling. It didnt feel right that I would have to print a check and I should have noticed the mention of sending a Certified Company Check for expenses.

I did not reply any further.
