Type of a scam Phishing
Him: "Hi This is Steve from The Copy Guy. I am calling to get the model number from your copier"
Me: "I'm sorry, where are you calling from?"
Him, repeating very fast: "Steve from The Copy Guy. I am calling to get the model number from your copier. I call annually for your model number"
Me: "We don't use a company called The Copy Guy- why do you want our model number?"
Him: *hangs up phone*
Based on the other complaints here associated with the phone number 508-338-8800, it seems like they may call you first like they did me and trick people into giving them their model number and then they call back later pretending to be the company you use and run the various schemes that people have claimed about.
