A couple weeks, around the 10th of September 2017 or so, there was an ad on the tv that appeared a number of times for a free knee brace that social security would cover it all. It gave the 1-800-836-5379 number to call. So, I called the number and spoke with a man sounded like maybe a little European accent. He said you want to feel better he said sure this is perfect for you, we will take care of everything, and he asked me for all this information: my height, weight, shoe size, pant size, social security number to contact Social Security, he asked for my father's name and my mother's maiden name and how long I lived here, do I own my home. Then he told me he had a screen up and asked how long I went to Dr. (and my doctor's name) (he told me the name of my doctor and knew all about it) and that they would contact him and get the permission for my leg brace and it went on and on. Another person came on the line and they said they were going to get the medicines department and fill in my name to get the medicines and then I could talk to the doctor. They wanted me to buy my medicines through the mail from them. And they were going to call my doctor and they asked me what medicines I took, and that's what they were interested in. That's when I said I just want a knee brace, I don't want a different doctor I go get my medicines at the pharmacy up on the corner. Then she said something to me and I can't remember and then I was disconnected and hung up on. Yesterday I called them again 800-836-5379 and I got this man and I told him I gave all this info to them , and I was waiting on leg brace and he told me I would need to call customer service and he gave me this number to call 858-216-4998. I hung up and called the number and it didn't go through at all, then I tried 1-800 in front and that didn't work, so I couldn't get a hold of that number. I called Social Security, because I was afraid they paid for it and I didn't get it, and the ss office said we don't handle any of that we just handle money and she gave me a number to call and they said they didn't have any sign of this happening a leg brace being paid for by them. That's when I called BBB.
