I signed up for a tether.to account because of the new information on cryptocurrency. I tried to update my email address on the site but I was unable to do this. I then investigated their site a little further and they were asking for personal information that I was uncomfortable to provide since the company is not well-known. I never used the account and decided with the instability of cryptocurrency that I would delete my account. I have been trying for almost a week now to get the company to delete my account. They start by offering to change the email address for you. This takes your support ticket for deletion out of the requests. I was not informed that this would happen. When I requested again to delete the account, I kept getting several different agents telling me I couldn't delete my account. They needed it for statistics information. I emailed them to let them know that if they decide to use my information, they need to inform me when they do that. Then they started to say, you need to make the request from the email that the account was under originally. I did that and then they said that I had not made that request. I have several email messages from this company and not one says, "Yes, we will delete your account. Thank you for considering our service. Sorry to see you go." I had to become pretty aggressive with them and re-open support tickets to get them to delete my account. I had to let them know that I was contacting the BBB. I will also contact the Government of Canada to see if this kind of behaviour online is legitimate. My account, as of writing this complaint, is still not deleted.
