Saw a remote job from RBG and applied. I received a text saying to contact the man reviewing my application for more information. I looked up the man’s information (name and position in the company) and it was a match to the company I was applying for. I did, and he replied back talking about the company, very detailed matching the website and even the LinkedIn, he also said my salary would be $725 a week for 12 hours. He asked for full name and contact information for a background check before going on with the interview process, which I didn’t mind giving out since I usually give out address, name and phone number to people in my community (one of Jehovah witnesses I write a lot of letters) he also asked for my availability and the name of my bank. I wrote him back with previous job exp. and the information requested. I did not give my banking number. He replied after saying he would contact me for an interview, which he did a few days later. When I asked to do the interview over the phone or zoom he said he was hard of hearing. No personal questions were asked just previous employment, how I handle customer situations. He then said I would receive my first job on Monday with a check to run errands for the company (he said Corporate Social Responsibility) and to check in the next day. I did check in but received no reply. Monday morning I received an email stating the job changed, that I would receive a check in the mail today for errands for their business. The woman in charge of foster care, he said, agreed that the shipping of the things for the children in foster care would be too much. So I would receive the check, cash it, keep my weeks salary and then send the woman the money via money order or direct through my bank. I tried calling the RBG company but did not receive any call back and they did not take my call.
