Terra Autos Sales Depot Reports & Reviews (3)

Answered an ad for a boat for sale on Craigslist. Item listed in Lubbock TX. The seller Dr. David Hughes indicated he was selling the boat through a consignment dealer Terra Autos Sales Depot LLC and the boat was actually at their warehouse in Georgia. He provided all the information and images and we negotiated a price which included delivery up to 1000 miles in his consigment agreement. He directed us to the website for more info and pictures of the boat and to register a transaction/bid offer with them. We chatted with the company online as their phones we busy. After our bid was supposedly accepted by the seller, they provided all the paperwork and instructions to wire funds to their company escrow bank account for purchase. Once purchase funds were received we were to receive delivery information, time of arrival and delivery driver information which never came. They no longer answered the chat function. the phone was never answered and the emails to them and the seller never were returned. We realized after searching other similar names and stories on the web that the company runs under different names closing down and starting new scamming buyers. SCAM do not buy and search other names. NEVER WIRE MONEY we are out $27,000 with little recourse.

I responded to a craigslist ad for a boat for sale. I was contacted by a Dr. David Hughes at [email protected] indicating he was selling the boat through a consignment company called Terra Autos Sales Depot website terraautos.com (other similar names under scams are now coming up). The site was professional and legit. We registered our offer and it was accepted. We received all the pictures and information about title transfers etc. we chatted on the chat function as the phone lines were a long hold wait so never talked to anyone. He said the boat was at the warehouse in Georgia but there was 1000 miles of delivery costs paid in the consignment by him. So, we opted for the delivery without eyes on the actual boat. We did a wire transfer of $26,000 to their legitimate company Wells Fargo Bank account and the communication stopped. Could not reach Dr Hughes or anyone at the Terra Autos Sales Depot by chat or phone. Boat did not arrive.
