I received a phone call from someone who said they were with the "Tennessee state compliance office" and said that there is a case being filed against me, that they needed to serve me papers and that i would be arrested if i did not comply. They mentioned something about an old debt. They also called my employer several times telling them something similar. It did not make a lot of sense and the story kept changing. They stated that if i did not comply and pay the debt and fine over the phone that it will be become a matter of public record and they would suspend/revoke/report on my state nursing licence. I paid money over the phone because i was scared it MIGHT be true, but after checking realized it was a scam.
