I have been searching online for jobs recently, this scammer wanted $800 as a "deposit" during 6-7 weeks of unpaid online job training under experienced mentors of 10-12+ years. The training would use real world projects to better prepare me for the workforce (even though I already have a BS degree in my field). After the training, I would get a certificate of completion, then they would help me with interview skills and set up interviews with their clients - they said several times that they work closely with Fortune 500 Companies. My $800 would be refunded to me with my first paycheck at the job assignment. When asked my preferred starting salary, I was offered exactly what I asked for plus $10K and it would be negotiable, re-evaluated periodically as I gained experience. I was also offered full benefits including 14 days paid vacation - this is for an entry level mechanical engineering job. They would not take any percentage of my wages once I was placed with a client, because the client pays them for finding then training quality employees. I also would not work directly for the Fortune 500 companies, but be paid through this company like a contractor. I was assured that they have clients in many locations, and though none were mentioned specifically, they said there were openings near me or remote opportunities. They already knew my name and email address and seemed to have a copy of my resume in front of them, my resume is readily available online since I am actively job searching, but they did not have any SSN or bank info. At the end of the 15min call explaining the job opportunity, I was told to expect an email with all the info we spoke about, encouraged to check out their company website (which is very professional looking), and told that they needed an answer about my interest in the position by today or tomorrow so I could start my training ASAP with the next group. I could call them back at the same number, or reply to the email that I would like to pursue the training. It was unclear at what point or if I would have to sign any paperwork to confirm. This was all too good to be true, and I didn't trust it, as I have been scammed several times recently by fake employers. This one is by far the most elaborate I have seen, and had the fewest mistakes in spelling/grammar (which I usually look for as an indicator of a scam). If I had not thought to check the ScamPulse.com to see if they were a real company, I may have believed them. Another tip off was the "owner" of the company listed on LinkedIn - with the company name spelled Techywiz, not Techywhiz like the website and email. Maybe one of them is a real company and the other a scam? I found neither spelling on BBB. There were also a couple Reddit posts inquiring about the realness of the company - both were within the last 30 days even though the company website says they started in 2016.
